It
there were not tides there would be no flats. Cape Cod's forest
would grow right to the water's edge, but there are
tides--powerful ones, that silently cover the shore and then,
hours later, pull the sea away to reveal ever-changing beaches
that attract young and old. Up to a mile wide, the flats are
breeding grounds for all kinds of sea life. People who stay
at beachfront resorts count themselves lucky having this ever-changing
view. |
