Settled
in 1700, Provincetown was incorporated in 1727. For years it
was primarily a Portuguese fishing village. Now, however, as
a world-renowned tourist attraction, this unique village at
the very tip of Cape Cod attracts a wide range of people and
life styles, and its picturesque streets make people-watching
a major pastime there.
Fine restaurants, galleries, and shops line this narrow street
where on Saturday nights in the summer, traffic can hardly move
through the happy crowds. |
