| Description: |
November,1620.
Around the sandy hook of land at the tip of Cape Cod, a strange
little ship named Mayflower sailed, after a harrowing 65-day
trip from England. Land meant many things to the weary pilgrims
but most of all it meant food and water. They stayed for a month
there at that place we call Provincetown. It was here that the
Mayflower Compact was written and signed, one of the first government
documents in the history of white Americans.
"P-town" today is known for its narrow one-lane streets
and pocket-sized lots with gorgeous flower gardens, and for
its art galleries, gift shops, and restaurants. |
