Owned
and operated by the Stone family since 1938, The Lighthouse
Inn offers a wide selection of accommodations in oceanfront
cottages with fireplaces, guestrooms and individual suites in
the main house. They offer both a full American breakfast and
five-course dinners in their dining room.
Also on the property is the Bass River Light. Dating back to
1855, the Bass River Light served seafarers until 1914 when
it was decommissioned after the Cape Cod Canal opened. After
being dark for 75 years the light was relit in 1989 as the only
privately owned and maintained working lighthouse in the country.
The light, which has a one-second flash every six seconds, is
now recognized by The Coast Guard as the West Dennis Light.
