Churches,
houses and the Old Dexter Grist Mill surround
Shawme Pond in Sandwich, Massachusetts, the oldest town on Cape
Cod, incorporated in 1639. Several buildings from those early
times still stand: The Hoxie House, the Sandwich Glass Museum,
the Thornton Burgess House, the Heritage Plantation, the Boardwalk
and the Mill. These structures draw many visitors from both
on and off Cape—even in the winter when snowfalls sometimes
enhance the New England charm of the town. |
